St-Patrick’s Day is a triple celebration in my family because it’s my Mom’s and my niece’s birthdays!
We often attend the parade downtown on St Catherine Street where streets are blocked off for floats and entertainment. The event downtown is organized by the United Irish Societies of Montreal and this year will be the 192nd Montreal St-Patrick’s Day Parade. Warmer weather has finally come our way but even if it’s a cold day, the streets are lined up and everyone is dressed up and ready to spread the Irish cheer.
McKibbons Irish Pub, Hurley’s Irish Pub, Ye Olde Orchard Pub, McLeans’s Pub and Irish Embassy are open for breakfast and Irish coffee before the parade. If you’re in the city, they are worth checking out.
For those who celebrate St-Paddy’s Day or would like to organize a party or activities, here are some party ideas. Each one contains recipes, decorations and crafts. I hope you can find some new and fun things for this year’s St-Paddy’s Day.
